Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Seasoned Desenvolvimento de Software LTDA ("Seasoned", "we", "us") handles your information when you use Elation, our singing-practice app, and this website. We act as the data controller and comply with applicable data-protection laws, including the Brazilian Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where it applies, and U.S. state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

The short version

Elation is built so that your voice stays on your phone. The app has no accounts and no sign-up, and all audio analysis happens on your device. Information reaches us in only two cases: when you buy Elation Pro (handled by Apple or Google) and when you choose to send us a feedback report. Backups go to your own cloud storage, not ours.

What stays on your device

The following never leaves your phone unless you explicitly export or back it up:

  • Your recordings — reference clips, isolated vocals, and every take you sing.
  • Your scores, comparisons, and practice history.
  • All signal processing and AI vocal isolation, which run entirely on-device.
  • Your settings, such as language preference.

What we receive, and when

We only receive information in the situations below:

  • Feedback reports (optional). If you choose to send feedback about a score, we receive your note, the reference clip audio, your take audio, the scoring data, the clip name, the app version, and your device's operating system and version. Reports are anonymous: they are not linked to any account or identity. Your IP address appears transiently in our server logs when the report is uploaded.
  • Purchases. Elation Pro purchases — whether a subscription or the one-time Lifetime option — are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play, so we never see your name, email, or payment details. We use RevenueCat to manage your Pro entitlement under a randomly generated, anonymous identifier, together with purchase receipt data such as product, price, and renewal status.
  • Cloud backup (optional). If you enable backup, your library is copied to your own Google Drive or Dropbox account. The data goes directly from your phone to your provider and never passes through our servers. Access tokens are stored only on your device, and you can revoke them at any time in your provider's settings.
  • YouTube import (optional). If you import audio from a YouTube link, your device communicates directly with YouTube. That request is subject to Google's privacy policy; we do not receive or log it.
  • This website. We use only essential cookies, strictly for administrator sign-in — visitors browsing this site get no tracking and no analytics. Like most websites, our servers keep short-lived logs (IP address, browser type) for security.

How we use this information

  • To improve scoring accuracy: feedback reports are reviewed by our team to find and fix cases where the score felt wrong.
  • To operate subscriptions: validating purchases, restoring them on new devices, and preventing fraud.
  • To keep the service secure and to comply with legal obligations.
  • We do not sell your data, show ads, or use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the processors needed to run the service:

  • DigitalOcean (hosting and file storage for feedback reports) — privacy policy at digitalocean.com/legal/privacy-policy.
  • RevenueCat (subscription management) — privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
  • Apple and Google (payment processing in their stores), under their own privacy policies.
  • Authorities, if required by law or legal process.
  • Some processors are located outside Brazil. Whenever data is transferred internationally, we adopt safeguards consistent with the LGPD and prioritize providers with at least an equivalent level of protection.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access to feedback reports is restricted to authorized team members, and we limit collection to what the service needs to operate.

Retention

Feedback reports are kept while they are useful for improving Elation's scoring and are deleted when no longer needed, or upon a verified deletion request. Subscription records are kept while required for accounting and legal obligations. Server logs are short-lived.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to:

  • Access the information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion, subject to legal limitations.
  • Receive your information in a portable format.
  • Object to processing, or withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis.
  • Under the LGPD: confirmation of processing and anonymization, blocking, or deletion of unnecessary data. Under the CCPA: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there.

One honest caveat: because feedback reports are anonymous, we may be unable to tell which report came from you. To act on a request, we may ask for details that identify the submission, such as the clip name and the approximate date it was sent.

Children's privacy

Elation is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page, with the date above updated.
