How does scoring work?

Elation isolates the original artist's vocal from your reference clip on your phone, then compares your a cappella take to it note for note. You get a 0–100 score for melody, rhythm, dynamics, and tone, plus coaching cues on what to fix. Scoring is key-invariant: sing in whatever key suits your voice.

Any tips for accurate scores?

Record in a quiet room, keep the phone at a steady distance, and sing the exact section of the clip from memory. Background music, other voices, or long pauses can confuse the analysis.

What's free, and what needs Elation Pro?

The free tier includes 3 practice clips with 3 takes each, with full scoring. Elation Pro unlocks unlimited clips and takes. You can go Pro with a monthly or yearly subscription, or with a one-time Lifetime purchase — all billed through the App Store or Google Play.

Is there a one-time purchase?

Yes. Alongside the monthly and yearly subscriptions, Elation Lifetime unlocks every Pro feature with a single payment — no renewals, ever. Like any purchase, it is tied to your App Store or Google Play account, so you can restore it on every device you sign in to. Future Pro features are included.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by the store, not by us. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Elation. On Android: Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Elation. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

How do I restore a purchase on a new phone?

Make sure you're signed in to the same App Store or Google Play account, then open Elation's upgrade screen and tap "Restore purchases".

How do refunds work?

Payments are processed by Apple and Google, so refunds go through them: reportaproblem.apple.com for the App Store, or your Google Play order history on Android. Statutory refund rights in your country are unaffected.

Where is my data stored?

On your phone. Recordings, takes, and scores never leave your device unless you turn on backup to your own Google Drive or Dropbox, or choose to send us a feedback report. Deleting the app deletes the local data.

Something's broken — what should I tell you?

Email us what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead, plus your device model, OS version, and app version. If it involves a specific score, the in-app feedback button on the comparison screen sends us the technical details directly.
